Lazy Ride from Melbourne Museum – Sunday 15 October

**This ride is weather dependant**

A relaxed, easy and short ride for anyone join. Starting from under the awning between Melbourne Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building (Nicholson Street side), we’ll ride the length of Canning Street, enjoy a lap of Princes Park, then stop for a coffee at Park Street Cafe (next to the new Brompton Junction store location). It’s a short (3.1km) ride back to the Museum after the cafe stop.

  • Meeting Place: Melbourne Museum, under the giant awning
  • Meeting Time: 10:00am
  • Ride Length: 11.8km
  • Duration: approx 1hr riding, plus a coffee stop
  • Elevation: Pretty flat.
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Pace: Relaxed, probably 10-12km/hr but will depend on the group on the day.
  • Coffee stop: Park Street Cafe

If you’re looking for free parking, there are two good options:

  1. Park Street – although it’s likely to be busy of a weekend as the cafe – and Capital City Trail – are both quite popular
  2. Newry Street, alongside Curtain Square, Carlton North. There is always plenty of parking here and it’s at least 2hrs, possibly 4hrs for some ares. You can only access Newry Street from Rathdowne Street.

What to bring

  • Your bike in good working condition
  • Layers (clothes) appropriate for the weather
  • Suncream, sunglasses, waterproof/windproof layer
  • Money to buy drink/food
  • Myki
  • Spare tube & tools if you’ve got them

Looking forward to seeing you on one of these rides if you can make it along.

Happy riding!
